Imagination Library of Daviess County
Imagination Library strives to improve literacy by delivering age-appropriate books at no charge to local children under the age of five. A parent or guardian simply needs to register the child to begin receiving free books through the mail every month until the child’s fifth birthday. The program is completely volunteer driven (no paid staff or office space) and relies solely on generous community donations and volunteer services. A Board of Directors promotes the program, develops fundraising initiatives, registers children, and enters information into the database. From there, the Dollywood Foundation manages the system to deliver via USPS the books to the children.

Mentors can easily work their mentoring hours around their own schedules. Just 1 hour each week is required for a minimum of 1 year. STAR Program volunteers are needed from 4-6pm every Thursday night school is in session. 3. Are there requirements for the volunteer? To mentor you need background check, references, training, photo ID, and proof of car insurance. To volunteer with our STAR Program, NO.
