The Owensboro Civitan Club
They are needing volunteers and members. Members and non-member volunteers of the Civitan Club of Owensboro operate a bingo function each Saturday evening and the first Wednesday of each month. They are actively seeking volunteers for Bingo on Saturday nights 5-9pm and training will be provided. The mission of Civitan is to build good citizenship by providing a volunteer organization dedicated to serving individuals, community and human needs with an emphasis on helping people with intellectual and developmental disabilities, and humanitarian. Local organizations they have helped include The Opportunity Center of Owensboro, The Help Office of Owensboro, Puzzle Pieces, Dream Riders of Kentucky, and more. The Junior League of Owensboro challenges women to greatness through volunteering, friendship, and commitment to improving our Owensboro-Daviess County community. The Junior League of Owensboro strives to improve early learning and Kindergarten readiness through literacy and education.

Goodfellows Club of Owensboro, Inc.
Goodfellows Club annually provides a Christmas party with toys, candy, and fruit for needy children. Invitations to the party are issued to children from a list submitted by school administrators. Usually there are approximately 2000 children in attendance. Even more important, throughout the year the Goodfellows Club meets needs for shoes, coats, clothing and emergency dental care, thereby helping to keep children in school.
